It was created to assure safety and reliability of on-line poker games designed for Ongame company (now bwin.party)
Customer profile
Ongame eSolutions AB (later on OnGame Networks). One of the pioneers of iGaming all over the world which started its business activity in 1999. Several years later, in 2006, the customer had almost 6 million active users. In 2007 it was bought for the amount of 570 million dollars by another giant of digital entertainment branch - bwin.party
Problem/ Customer need
The customer wants to increase the reliability level of on-line poker games. Unfortunately, there are plots between the players that influences on the game result. Goal: To create a system detecting frauds in cooperation with prominent mathematicians from Uppsala University.To increase customer satisfaction, clearness of games and decrease number of feedback transactions.
Realisation
A team of mathematicians from Upsala University designed algorithms detecting frauds. ALAN Systems was to translate them into programming language. The next stage of work included case tests in order to check if everything works properly. The customer participated in all operations. ALAN Systems was responsible for programming and implementation as well as smooth project management. The project was realized in accordance with Scrum methodology and nearshoring model
Result, advantages
Anti-fraud solution was implemented in a way ensuring systems operating without interruptions. Implementation was invisible for players. It should also be pointed out that in OnGame poker rooms 120 games per minute were played at the same time. Thanks to modern tools, the customer strengthened its position as a reliable operator. The solution turned out to be useful and was soon commercialized.
